The YouTube video “Die Zerstörung der CDU.” by the German YouTuber Rezo, released on the occasion of the 2019 European Parliament election, is examined in this film-analytical study as a specific audiovisual image of speaking. The focus is on its temporal structuring, and the entanglement of audiovisual argumentation and affective processes. In this perspective, the video aims at a rhetorical situation of urgent objection to the politics of the CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany) and the constitution of an intervening community in the audiovisual addressing. The analytical description is data-related in its use of digital tools.
