In our sixth Cinepoetics Lecture, media scholar Erhard Schüttpelz (University of Siegen) will present his work on ethnographic film. Being an expert in poscolonial theory, his talk "Mai 1968 und die Umkehrung des ethnographischen Blicks" focuses on the oeuvre of Jean Rouch. This director, Schüttpelz claims, has been one of the most consequent thinkers of a possible inversion of the colonial gaze.

Cinepoetics cordially invites you to join us on May 28 at 6:00 pm at the Kino Arsenal, Potsdamer Platz (Berlin). Free admission for the lecture (which will be held in German). We are showing the film PETIT À PETIT (Jean Rouch, F 1971) after the lecture at 8:15 pm. For the screening, Kino Arsenal will charge its usual admission fees.
