Michael Wedel was awarded his PhD in 2005 for his work on the history and aesthetics of German musical film. From 2005 to 2009, he was Assistant Professor for the History and Theory of Media and Culture at the University of Amsterdam. Currently, he is Professor for Media History in the Digital Age at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF where he also holds the vice-presidency for research.
