Bodo Mrozek is a research associate at the Berlin Center for Cold War Studies of the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History. Previously, he held a substitute professorship for theory and history of popular music at Humboldt University Berlin, as well as a research position at the Center for Contemporary History in Potsdam.

Mrozek is a PhD graduate at Freie Universität Berlin with a focus on modern history. In his research and teaching, he is also involved in the subfields of Sensory Studies, transnational history as well as cultural and media history.

His publications are particularly interested in pop culture as a leading figure and research object in contemporary history. He published Youth ­– Pop – Culture. Eine transnationale Geschichte (Suhrkamp, 2019) and co-edited the first and second volumes of the book series Popgeschichte (Transcript, 2014), among others.
